William Shakespeare was born in 1564. His father John was a glove maker, his mother Mary was a farmer’s daughter. He had 2 younger sisters and 3 younger brothers. He studied Latin, Greek and history, but left his school at the age of 14. He married Anne Hathaway, had daughter and twins. Before 1590 he had left Stratford and went to London, where he worked as an actor. There he started to write plays. Shakespeare helped to build a new theatre, which was called “The Globe”. He’s famous for his great comedies with happy endings, like “a midsummer Night’s dream”. He also wrote many tragedies with sad endings such a “romeo and juliet”. He had wrote 38 plays. He died on 23 April 1616
