My hobby is swimming. мое хобби – это плавание. i can’t even imagine something being better than swimming. даже не могу себе представить, что может быть лучше плавания. i love swimming, so i go to the swimming pool three times a week which brings me great joy. я люблю плавать, поэтому три раза в неделю я хожу в бассейн, что доставляет мне безграничную радость.     swimming boosts my spirits, strengthens my immune system and makes me healthier. плавание поднимает мне настроение, укрепляет мою иммунную систему и делает меня здоровее. it’s no secret that we use practically all the muscles of our body when swimming. не для кого не секрет, что именно плавание задействует практически все мышцы нашего тела. it makes a person flexible and athletic. оно делает человека гибким и спортивным. in addition, swimmers don’t tend to gain weight. помимо всего прочего, пловцам не свойственно набирать лишний вес. it's beyond all understanding - half an hour of swimming and our body burns as many calories as are found in an average piece of cake. уму не постижимо – за полчаса плавание наш организм сжигает столько же калорий, сколько находится в одном среднем пирожном.     my friend stepan doesn’t enjoy swimming as much as i do. мой друг степан не любит плавание так же, как я. but i managed to persuade him to attend a swimming hobby group with me. но все же мне удалось его уговорить посещать кружок вместе со мной. at first he couldn’t swim and was scared to go into water. в первое время он не умел плавать и боялся даже зайти в воду. but in a week, he overcame his fear and became much braver and much more persistent during the lessons. но уже через неделю он преодолел свой страх и стал намного смелее и настойчивей во время занятий. to my surprise, stepan was very quick at learning to swim, although his skills still can’t compare to my skills. к моему удивлению, степан быстро научился плавать, хотя ему еще далеко до моего «мастерства». now every other day we attend swimming lessons together with pleasure. теперь мы с ним каждые два дня охотно идет на уроки плавания. we joke there, have fun and periodically (when our coach permits) play water games with peers. там мы шутим, веселимся и периодически (когда тренер разрешает) играем в водные игры с одногодками.
