winter holidays begin at the end of december and last about two weeks. during winter holidays, there are such holidays as new year and christmas. some people believe that the new year and christmas are family holidays and we have to celebrate them at home. however, many people like to spend their
winter holidays somewhere far from home.

in winter, many people travel to carpathians because they like skiing. so am i. i adore skiing because it’s so exciting to slide downhill on skis at a very high speed! that’s why i begin to dream about winter holidays in carpathians from the
very beginning of autumn. usually we go to carpathians with my parents and friends and rent a small house in one of carpathian villages.

there are many mountain ski resorts in carpathians, for example slavsk, bukovel, migovo, dragobrat and others. these ski resorts are being actively
developed. new modern elevators, hotels, cafes and restaurants are being built, new slopes are provided. i’ve been to slavsk, bukovel and dragobrat. i like bukovel the best because it has many different slopes and trails, the most modern elevators and the best-developed infrastructure.

why i like this sport so much? because i enjoy magnificent carpathian landscapes, clean mountain air, trees in snow and the whole atmosphere of extreme sport! i can ski the whole day not feeling tired. unfortunately, all good things end very fast. holidays pass quickly and soon it’s time to
go home. good by, carpathians! see you next winter!

мои зимние каникулы (перевод)

зимние каникулы начинаются в конце декабря и длятся две недели. во время зимних каникул мы отмечаем такие праздники, как новый год и рождество. некоторые считают, что новый год и рождество – это
семейные праздники и их нужно отмечать дома. но другие любят проводить зимние каникулы вдали от дома.

зимой многие едут в карпаты, потому что любят кататься на горных лыжах. и я тоже! я обожаю горные лыжи, потому что это так здорово, скользить вниз по склону на лыжах на большой
скорости! поэтому я начинаю мечтать о том, чтобы провести зимние каникулы в карпатах, с самого начала осени. обычно мы едем в карпаты с родителями и друзьями и арендуем небольшой домик в одном из карпатских сел.

в карпатах много горнолыжных курортов, например, славск, буковель,
мигово, драгобрат и другие. эти горнолыжные курорты активно развиваются. строятся новые подъемники, отели, кафе и рестораны, оборудуют новые спуски. я был в славске, буковеле и на драгобрате. больше всего мне нравится буковель, потому что там много различных склонов и трасс, там самые современные
подъемники и самая развитая инфраструктура.

почему мне так нравится этот вид спорта? потому что я великолепными карпатскими пейзажами, чистым горным воздухом, заснеженными деревьями и всей атмосферой экстремального спорта! я могу кататься на лыжах целый день и не чувствовать
усталости. но, к сожалению, все хорошее быстро заканчивается. праздники проходят быстро и приходит время ехать домой. до свидания, карпаты! до следующей зимы!
