Заповедник зубров.   на территории  спасского района  рязанской области  расположен  окский биосферный государственный заповедник  с зубровым питомником (питомникдействует с 1959 года). также зубров завезли и в вологодскую область. в настоящее время численность этого редкого вида краснокнижных животных на территории области насчитывает 40 особей. в 2011 году планируется завезти ещё 13 животных, а к окончанию реализации целевой программы численность зубров должна составить около 90 особей. с 1996 года по настоящее время в в национальный парк орловское полесье завезено 65 зубров. сегодня создано три группы зубров общей численностью более 120 животных. в настоящее время зубры также завезены в полесский государственный радиационно-экологический заповедник (республика беларусь).первый зубровый питомник, появившийся в россии в 1948 году, находится в серпуховском районе московской области в приокско-террасном заповеднике. в 2011 году в плейстоценовый парк (якутия) были завезены зубры из приокско-террасного заповедника
