Вообще, и ни то, и ни другое неправильно. правильно так:   they signed a real bargain and started working together. * working  в данном случае можно заменить на  to work, по желанию. перевод:   они подписали реальную сделку и начали работать вместе. во-первых, при годах в языке никогда, без каких бы то ни было исключений не ставится "year". то есть в "2000 год" будет записываться просто числом: "2000"; "в 2000-м году" на будет "in 2000". если написать "year", то это будет грубая ошибка. во-вторых, если вы имели в виду, как записать буквами, то это "two thousand". если как произнести, то " ту [межзубный звук]+аузэнд".
