Правительство США это как дерево с сильным стволом и тремя ответвлениями. Ствол это люди. Они поддерживают дерево: без их поддержки нибудь никакого правительство. Народ выбирает человека который строит американские законы. Первое ответвление на дереве правительство это Конгресс. Конгресс это мечто встречи представителей со всех штатов. Народ сам выбирает этих представителей. Конгресс составляет законы которым все должны подчиняться. Конгресс собирается в Американском капитолии( здание конгресса США) в Вашингтоне. Конгресс разделен на две части: Сенат и Палата представителей. Каждый штат, не смотря на то каким бы маленьким или большим он не был, посылает 2 человека в Сенат. Этих людей называют сенаторы. В сенате 100 сенаторов. Время правления сенатора 6 лет. Каждый штат так же посылает людей в палату предсьаыителей. Они называются представителя конгресса. Количество конгресменов от одного штата зависит от количества народа который в этом штате проживает. Большие Штаты имеют больше конгресменов, чем маленькие. В общем в палате представителей 435 конгресменов. Срок их правления 2 года. Конституция дает конгрессу большое количество власти. Одно из главных прав конгресса это право объявить войну. Следующее ответвление правительства это президент и его . Они проводит законы которые принимает конгресс. Президент подписывает проекты законов и они становятся действительными. Вице президент и кабинет министров президенту принимать решения. Президент США является командиром вооруженных сил. Человек который хочет стать президентом должен быть рожден в США, ему должно быть хотя бы 35 лет и он должен жить в США не менее 14 лет до того как стать Президентом. Срок правления президента 4 года и максимально 2 срока правления. Американцы голосуют за президента каждый ноябрь високосного года. Третье ответвление правительства это верховный суд. Он состоит из 9 судей - самые важные судьи в государстве. Они должны следить чтобы президент и конгресс соблюдали конституцию. Он решают какие законы проходят в конгресс, то есть они спорят о их значении. Судьи работает в Верховном суде всю жизнь. Американцы очень горды своей конституцией. Она была составлена более 200 лет назад и все еще работает! Но жители США могут изменить конституцию. Изменения в конституции называются поправки. Существует 26 поправок к конституции. Первые 10 поправок называются Билли о правах. Они были сделаны в 1791 году. Они гарантируют жителям США важные права и свободы, такие как свобода прессы, свобода вероисповедания, права обратиться в суд, имеет адвоката и некоторые другие. Вскоре после гражданской войны (1861-1865)были приняты три важные поправки. Тринадцатая поправка отменила рабство, четырнадцатая сделала всех Черных жителей гражданами США. Пятнадцать дала афроамериканцам право голосовать. (до этого только белые жители, которые были старше 21 года и владели каким либо имуществом могли голосовать).
