Не понимаю в каких случаях пишется : a в каких : the а в каких : are

Are это глагол to be оно относится ну вот если у тебя наприме в приложении есть we, you ther то по любому are а the забыла

мои родители не так стары. моему папе 51 год, он шофер. моей маме 50, она работает в библиотеке.
