everyone agrees that leonardo da vinci (1452-1519) was one of the greatest of all painters. his painting "the last supper" is probably the. most famous painting in the world. but leonardo would be famous if he had never painted a stroke. for he was also a great inventor. he invented the wheelbarrow, the military tank, and roller bearings. he made plans for dozens of weapons and machines. he even experimented with airplane and submarine modes.

besides, leonardo was great as a scientist and engineer. he was also a poet, a musician, and a sculptor. perhaps no other person in history has ever learned so much in a lifetime. certainly no one ever deserved more to be called a genius.

leonardo was born in the village of vinci in italy. as a small boy he lived most of the time with his fathers parents. leonardo was a beautiful boy, with curly hair and bright blue eyes.

when his father found out that the boy was interested in painting, he sent him to an excellent painter and teacher. one day leonardo painted a beautiful angel in one of his teacher's pictures. "you are a greater painter than г, said the teacher, "i will paint no more"

Here come the summer holidays when you can devote time to a favorite pastime. i love to read, so i decided to get acquainted with the book of l. carroll "alice in wonderland". then i couldn't even imagine how much fun you will get while reading it. from the first page i got drawn into an interesting world of adventure, always accompanied by the main character alice and her friends. with them she met during his travels in the mysterious wonderland. then the girl met with various strange creatures, which surprised her with his abilities and actions. some of them were good, but unusual, for example, the cheshire cat, the pelican, the dodo. others, on the contrary, a very nasty, evil and rude is the queen of hearts and her subjects. and in general, everything in the country was not so, but alice was curious to see what happens in the other world. she had several times to change its growth, it was sometimes essential (for example, when the queen ordered to cut off alice's head, and had her using magic mushroom to grow rapidly).  the characters surprised alice, but with her and me, its unusual appearance, conversations and even names. among them i liked the cheshire cat, which, like real cats, comes when he wants and where he wants, and sometimes only his head or other parts of the body that was very funny. he told alice to go home, but she had to meet with moody and obstinate queen. this character i perceived as negative, as in her way was caused by all the traits of bad character and misconduct, especially towards those who were dependent on it. for example, i was convinced that when people have the power, selfish and stupid, it leads to unfair the subordinate who must obey and suck, otherwise will be punished. but not only the queen causes the negative attitude, but those who humor him, for example, weak-willed king. many of the characters i was very pleased, for example the mad hatter and the hare. they were not evil, say different fun and exciting things, but in relation to alice was very impolite and, surprisingly, not thought that is wrong and you can't do that. of all the characters closest to me was alice herself, hesitantly, because we're almost the same age. and i'm even a little jealous, because, really, so it would be interesting to get into the mysterious country! i like the fact that alice is brave, does not lose interest in what is happening under any circumstances, has an opinion, trying to analyze and draw conclusions about their own and others actions. it was very interesting to get acquainted with the views of this mysterious country, because there grew not merely flowers, and the flowers that can sing, met all manner of creatures and as evidenced by the name of the country.
