Iwould like to go to st. petersburg.  it is very beautiful. i want to go to the winter palace, the hermitage, in amusement parks and other interesting and beautiful places.but the trip to st. petersburg for a few days is very expensive.have to pay for room and board and excursions, but it's not so easy for a teenager.but, nevertheless, i think a trip to this city should be very interesting.   visiting museums, theaters, amusement parks and cinemas - it's all very interesting and informative.   а это перевод на : я хотел бы поехать в санкт-петербург. там красиво. я хочу сходить в зимний дворец, эрмитаж , в парки аттракционов и в другие интересные и красивые места. но путешествие по санкт-петербургу на несколько дней дорогое. надо оплачивать проживание, питание и экскурсии, а это не так уж легко для подростка. но, все же, по моему мнению   поездка в этот город должна быть интересной. посещение музеев, театров, парков развлечений и кинотеатров - это все интересно и познавательно.  если не нравится питер или ты в нём живешь, то возьми любой другой город и убери слов "эрмитаж".

As for as the development of art of painting in ukraine is concerened , one should remember that the early period referred to icon-painting, that began to develop in kyivan rus in the end of the 10th century. icon painters- mostly monks- depicted christ, the virgin, angels and saints. byzantine traditions were a model. mosaic and frescos of st sophia cathedral in kyiv is one of the most distinguished among the memorials of that period.  portrait painting as separate genre appeared during the renaissance (the 16th century) and was strongly influenced by the icon tradition.  many ukrainian painters were attracted to the new academy of arts in st petersburg (1757) , which cultivated the classicist style of painting then popular in europe.  ukranian art of the middle of 19th century was closely connected with the name of t. shevchenko, who devoted most of his painting to ukrainian interests. he was considered the father of modern ukrainian painting. shevchenko painted monuments of ukraine.
