we live in the age of information technology:   a  computer  and the internet are nearly as necessary as the telephone.

no doubt that these are unique inventions, which have  influenced all areas of our lives. however, some people consider the internet and  the  computer one of the greatest evils of our time.  on the one hand, the internet is very useful, it lets us access a world of facts, figures and knowledge. children also use the internet for learning. in addition, with internet  access  it is now possible to speak to friends and relatives anywhere in the world cheaply and quickly(or use, "easily").

children like to play computer games, because  they find them to be  very interesting. additionally, computer games can be a valuable source of accidental(incidental)  learning that can be applied to school, home, and social events.

on the other hand, the internet  can be  disasterous  for our society, because many children spend hours in front of their computers and neglect their everyday duties and school homework.

more than that, many people are against computer games, they believe that  they are  addictive and rather harmful for children’s health.

to sum up, i want to say,  that parents should limit the time that their children spend on the computer and find  the  right balance between leisure and dependence.

The river thames is the main approach to london from the east.1000 years ago william the conqueror decided to build a strong fortress to protect the city of london,which he had just conquered.the towerof london was one of the first and most impressive castles built after the norman invasion of england in 1066. since the times of wiliam the first kings have built and extended the tower of london and used it for many purposes.the tower has been used as a royal palace,an observatory,an arsenal,a state prison,and many famous and infamous people have been executed within its walls.it is now a museum.for many visitors the principal attractionis the crown jewels,the finest. precious stones of the nation.a fine collection of armour is exhibited in the keep.the security ot the tower is ensured by a military garrison and by the yeoman warders or "beefeaters" who still wear their picturesque tudor uniform.

It is necessary to learn foreign languages. that's why pupils have got such subject as a foreign language at school. everybody knows his own language, but it is useful to know foreign languages. i learn english, because i understand that i can use it. for example, if i do to england i'll be able to speak english too. english is used not only in england, but also in other countries. i learn english because i want to read foreign literature in the original. i know and like such english and american writers as charles dickens, mark twain and others. i understand that i must learn english. if i know english well, i'll be able to go to the library and take books by english and american writers in the original. i like to travel. but it is difficult to visit countries, when you don't know the language of these countries. if i know the language of the country, where i am going to, it will be easy do travel there. if i want to ask something, i can do it in english. i like to read books. and i like to read newspapers, too. if i know, for example, english i'll be able to read english newspapers and magazines. knowledge of different countries to understand each other, to develop friendship among them. for example, we have a foreign exhibition in moscow. if is easy for me to visit this exhibition. you can see a lot of advertisement, signboard, names in the streets. they are in foreign languages. very often they are in english. if you know english, you can read and understand them. now we bay many clothes from other countries. if you know english well, you can read something about the size of this or that thing. it is clear for you what it is made of. there are a lot of films in foreign languages. if you know them, you can understand films without any help. there are international friendship camps in the world. if you can speak foreign languages, it will be easy for you to visit such camps and speak with the boys, girls, men, women who do not know russian. in short, i understand that i have to learn english in a proper way and i try to do it.
