Winchester College is an integral part of British educational history. Winchester College Private School for boys is one of the oldest in the country and is considered one of the most beautiful. The educational institution has been teaching boys for over 620 years. The school operates as a full board. There are 4 such educational institutions in Great Britain.

The school was founded by the Royal Chancellor, Bishop of Winchester, Wilhelm Wyckham. In the 16th century, the structure of the educational institution was approved. It included a leader, a college council (10), teachers, chaplains, singers, and fellowship students (70 youths). The structure is preserved today. But in addition to 70 students studying for free (at the expense of scholarships), more than 600 boys receive education at the college for a fee.

During the creation of the school, its unique teaching system was developed. The author was the same outstanding Wyckham. The educational institution he founded has trained and continues to train the intellectual elite, people who will later be able to manage large corporations and states.

The school is proud of its outstanding graduates. Famous inventors, scientists, archbishops, Olympic champions, educators, philosophers, artists and mathematicians graduated from this school. The famous reformer of the British education system Thomas Arnold studied at Winchester College. Historian Anthony Beevor, politician William Whitelaw, writer Anthony Trollope, actor Hugh Dancy, art critic with the knightly title Kenneth Clarke, grandson of the first President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin were educated here.

Football футбол football is considered to be the most popular sport games in the world. it is my favourite game as well. together with my dad we are fans of football. we always watch important football matches on tv. at weekends sometimes we go to our stadium to watch the games of local teams. i know that british people are ardent fans of this game. they even have some premier league football clubs, such as manchester united, chelsea and arsenal. american football is called soccer. their game is a bit different from football. for example, the shape of a ball and a uniform are totally different. the rules of football are quite simple. there are eleven players in each team. every team tries to score as many goals as they can. no one is allowed to use hand while playing, only legs. the goalkeeper on the contrary uses hands to catch the ball. by its origin it’s an old game. they say that even in china at 400 bc games similar to football were played. later, it was played in ancient egypt and rome. today this game is played in more than 140 countries. it is especially popular in some european and latin american countries. football is also played in the olympics. women’s football is a comparatively new game. every year europe houses fifa cup competitions and every four years – the world cup. my favourite footballers are ronaldo and zidan. unfortunately, zidan left football several years ago, so now i only fancy ronaldo’s game.
