St. patrick's day - is the historical irish holiday . the holiday has british roots . it is celebrated in honor of st. patrick - the patron saint of ireland.  tradition has it that the saint banished all snakes from the island , brought christianity to ireland .there are legends about st. patrick. according to one of them , st. patrick was born in the family of a deacon of the local church wales on march 17 of the year 415 . he was captured by pirates, when he was 16 years old . they brought him to ireland , where he was in the service of the chief milchan . he worked as a shepherd boy . he later wrote that at that period of his life he prayed many times a day , his faith is all the more strengthened. legend has it that after six years he heard the voice of god , who told him that she was coming home and that he is waiting for his ship .  patrick escaped from captivity and persuaded the captain to take him to the ship.later, there was his familiarity with the french bishop germanus ( st. germain ) , helped him gain a foothold in their spiritual development . over the years, the saint returned to ireland as a missionary. it was requested by pope celestine i. croagh patrick mountain was named in honor of st. patrick's day because it is forty days and nights fasting there. according to legend, it was on this mountain and made it holy miracle.  he ordered all the snakes from ireland to gather at his feet , after which he had driven them .autobiography of a saint, called "confession" has survived to the present day , as well as one of his message and prayer "prayer of the deer " ( "the shield of st. patrick's day "). this prayer protects against all evil . legend has it that with this prayer he and his students passed the ambush enemies of christianity.  a war in ambush instead of the travelers saw the deer run past them .traditionally, the feast of st. patrick's day costume parades are held with brass bands .  according to many , the americans have brought this tradition to the holiday.today is the feast day of st. joy and celebration of spring. it is celebrated not only in the uk and ireland, but also beyond.  день святого патрика (st. patrick's day) — это сложившийся ирландский праздник. праздник имеет британские корни. его отмечают в честь святого патрика – покровителя ирландии. предание гласит, что этот святой изгнал всех змей с острова, принес в ирландию христианство.есть легенды о святом патрике. согласно одной их них, родился святой патрик в семье дьякона местной церкви уэльсе 17 марта 415 года. его взяли в плен пираты, когда ему было 16 лет. они его в ирландию, где он попал в услужение к вождю милчу. работал юноша пастухом. позже он писал, что в тот период жизни молился много раз в день, вера его все больше укреплялась. легенда гласит, что через шесть лет он услышал голос бога, который сказал ему, что она скоро вернется домой и что его ждет его корабль. патрик сбежал из плена и уговорил капитана взять его на корабль.позже произошло его знакомство с французским епископом германусом (сен-жерменом), ему укрепиться в своем духовном развитии. по прошествии лет святой вернулся в ирландию в роли миссионера. это было поручением папы целестина i. гору croagh patrick назвали в честь святого патрика потому, что он сорок дней и ночей постился там. по легенде именно на этой горе и совершил этот святой чудо. он приказал змеям со всей ирландии собраться у его ног, после чего он изгнал их.автобиография святого, под названием «исповедь» сохранилась до наших дней, также как и одно его послание и молитва «мольба оленя» («щит святого патрика»). эта молитва ограждает от всякого зла. легенда гласит, что с этой молитвой он и его ученики прошли мимо засады, устроенной противниками христианства. а войны в засаде вместо путников увидели, что мимо них проходят олени.традиционно в праздник дня святого патрика проходят костюмированные парады с духовыми оркестрами. по мнению многих, американцы привнесли эту традицию в праздник.сегодня день святого праздника считается праздником радости и весны. он отмечается не только в великобритании и ирландии, но и за их пределами.  на :
