Douglas arrived at kennedy airport and came up to the check-in desk. he put his luggageon the scales, but the man at the desk wasn’t   looking at his things.«are you going for a holiday? » he asked.«yes,» douglas answered«have you ever been to switzerland? »«no, i have never been out of the united states.»«are you   going to ski? » «certainly.»«why haven’t you     got skis with you? »«i will buy them there.»«hope the weather will be good.»douglas showed the clerk his ticket and passport and the man gave him a boarding-pass. he was  early and he had time to drink a cup of coffee and to read the evening newspaper.half an hour later he got on the plane together with the other passengers.

Spring. march, april and may are spring months. spring is a very beautiful   season. the weather is   warm.   everything changes and seems to revive. sometimes it rains. the sun shines brightly. the grass is green. there a lot of a lot of flowers peeping out from it. summer  the summer months are june, july and august. summer is the hottest season of the year. the days are the   longest in summer. many people   enjoy summer. they have holiday. there is a lot of fruit and vegetables at that time. in summer many people leave town and spend the hottest time in the country or at the seaside. autumn  the autumn months are september, october and november. the warm days of early autumn called the “golden autumn”. the “golden autumn” is really beautiful with its yellow, red and brown trees and golden leaves falling down. autumn is the season of fruit and vegetables. the weather is not very   good. it often rains. it gets colder and colder. winter  the winter months are december, january and february. the winter days are short. it often snows and it freezes. some people like it very much. the ground is covered with snow. the trees and the roofs are white with snow too.
