"they can take bananas" - они могут взять бананы. тут уже непонятно какие именно бананы. едем если бананы все же определенные, то можно добавить слово "эти". "they can take those bananas." - они могу взять эти бананы. тут вроде уже понятнее. can - переводится как могу, умею. в смысле "я могу говорить", "я могу ходить", а в данном предложении слово "могут" нужно употребить в форме "им позволено" и лучше использовать глагол may.  "they may take those bananas" - они могут взять эти бананы. я так понимаю, что предложение авторское, то-есть не списанное с учебника и поэтому в будущем не советую переводить тексты или предложения с на   в g**gle там грамматика страдает.
