Use the proper article:

b) The Englishman and the American were taking their dinner at one table without being introduced to one another. During a meal the American asked the Englishman to pass him a salt. "Here's a waiter, sir", replied sternly v. Englishman. "Oh, I beg your pardon, I was mistaken," said the American. "What? You were mistaken, sir, you took me for a waiter?" "Oh, no", answered the American. "I considered you gentleman".
c) Waitress: Some coffee, an orange juice, an egg sandwich and a cheese sandwich. You: Thank you. Some coffee and an egg sandwich are for me, an orange juice and a cheese sandwich are for my friend.
