The house is built in 1785 — 1786, apparently, by V. Bazhenov. Charm of this really remarkable building is not only in its skillful arrangement on a crest of the small hill, not only in the most refined portrayal of all architectural details, but also that the architect paid much attention to a building silhouette with its two wings and galleries. With the purpose to emphasize a role of wings it topped them with pediments, lateral which lines of slopes conduct an eye to the arbor belvedere crowning the central case which has been once decorated with a statue. This reception united all parts of the building in complete composition. To the same purpose serve identical arch end of windows of the first floor as at home, and its gallery and wings. In addition, the architect resorted even to one seldom got welcome. He calculated the socle pushed forward under a portico of the main house on six columns, but put only four, having replaced extreme with sculptures. The impression of extraordinary wealth, elegance of a facade though only the four-columned portico deprived besides a pediment, decorates this magnificent building on proportions is made.
From the lane where there is an entrance on the territory occupied with the house, pay attention not only the solemn gate decorated with Ionic columns, but also the walls of some kind of internal fencing processed by false arches dispersing from them at an angle. These it is perspective being reduced arches force to track involuntarily their run in the direction to a domestic facade of the house. Decorative development of facades of the house of Pashkov is magnificent. Here and remarkable on the plastic qualities lion's masks in locks of arches, also isn't less thin the executed modelled garlands, and decorative vases on contour Attica. It is fine on drawing and a lattice of an external fencing from Znamenka. Here everything is graceful, everything is artly perfect.
Pashkov's house didn't avoid in 1812 of a fate of the majority of the Moscow buildings. After a fire O. Bov restored crowning belvedere, however I changed drawing of its stucco molding and columns.
