Russia is one of the largest countries in the world. The vast territory of Russia lies in the eastern part of Europe and the northern part of Asia. Russia is washed by twelve seas and three oceans. The land of Russia varies very much from forests to deserts, from high mountains to deep valleys. The main mountain are the Urals, the Caucasus and the Altai. There are a lot of great rivers and deep lakes on its territory. Also there are many animals in Russia. The Russian Federation is rich in natural and mineral resources. It has deposits of oil, gas, iron, gold, silver and many others.  The European part of the country is densely peopled, and most population live in cities. The current population of Russia is more than 145 million people. Russia is a presidential republic. It is one of the leading powers in the world.

Mobile Phones

Almost everyone has a mobile phone today. Our phones are very useful. We use them to call our parents and friends, search the web, send messages... and, sometimes, play some games!

We love our mobile phones. We think that our life would be impossible without them.

But our parents often get grumpy when they see that we are doing someting in our phone instead of just talking to them.

I think, that even though we sometimes are desperate to talk to a friend, communicating with your mum would be better. Always remember your parents!:)

Telephone
People have invented many useful devices. One of the most interesting and widely-used inventions is the telephone. The modern phone that we use today is the result of work of many people. The first person to have patented the telephone in 1876 was Alexander Graham Bell. He is credited as the inventor of this practical device. Other scientists who also worked on telephone invention were Elisha Gray, Antonio Meucci, Thomas Edison and some others. The 20th century was the era of phone development and modernization

Современный телефон, который мы используем сегодня, является результатом работы многих людей. Первым человеком, который запатентовал телефон в 1876 году, был Александр Грэхем Белл. Ему приписывают изобретение этого практичного устройства. Другие ученые, которые также работали над изобретением телефона, это Элиша Грэй, Антонио Меуччи, Томас Эдисон и некоторые другие.20-й век был эпохой развития и модернизации телефона.
