Most newcomers expect teachers to write things down for them . that's not what they do at natural ear music . they do things by music and muscle memory . it's not the traditional method, but it's fun . pupils spend some days at the instrument, with directions from their teachers and specific boundaries as to what they are allowed to experiment with, they learn to hear intervals and pitch movement . they play automatically, by ear, and learn to do so in an amazingly short period of time . when teachers finally start explaining the theory, the pupils get it immediately .

1 are woken up

2 are told

3 is cooked

4 are asked

5 are taught

6 were taught

7 were taken

8 were shown

9 were explained?!

10 are usually made

11 will be predicted

The rule was explained to him.

He was explained the rule.
