Students of all educational institutions normally take examinations or tests to show they have gained enough knowledge to move to the next level. They are a significant part of the curriculum. I don’t think students like the exams, as they make them anxious and stressed. However, I’m sure that everybody should take part in testing system. It motivates us to study better. If we don’t have exams, then there is no need to study. I know that some people are self-motivated. They are ready to study because they simply like it. However, it’s rather seldom. Most students prefer cheating, instead of studying. They do it mainly to get a certificate but not knowledge. Nowadays, there are two types of exams: state and international. State exams are held in every public secondary school. At the end of the 9th and 11th forms all students have to take these exams in several obligatory and optional subjects. Ukrainian language and Mathematics are considered to be obligatory. At the same time, every student can choose two or three optional subjects. If I were to choose, I’d prefer English and History. International exams are rather popular these days. Almost any teen or adult can take part in these exams. They are internationally recognized exams, which test your knowledge in different areas. I would like to pass such exam in English and get a certificate with good grades. Other professional areas of international exams include business, law, medicine, accounting, etc. In conclusion, I’d like to mention one more advantage of exams. They discipline people and teach them to work and study regularly.
В субботу утром я никогда не просыпаюсь слишком поздно. Я лучше встану на рассвете, чем буду валяться в постели до полудня. Выпив чашечку кофе, я трачу четверть часа на чтение политических новостей. Как всегда они обещают дать людям высокую зарплату и пенсию, но их слова говорят громче, чем поступки, а не наоборот. Я не расстраиваюсь, выпиваю еще одну чашку кофе и собираюсь в кино.
Иногда я меняю этот план и иду на выставку, если такая проводится в городе. Я также люблю посещение оперу, театры и спектакли, но в субботу все билеты были забронированы заранее. Когда я подошел к кассе, продавец билетов сказал мне, что уже поздно – билетов нет.
Как правило, мой выходной день всегда насыщен. Я никогда не скучаю, и даже если нет места, куда я бы мог пойти, я прикладываю все усилия, чтобы сделать все возможное и провести этот день плодотворно. Я читаю книги или что-то изучаю, занимаюсь спортом и строю планы на следующие выходные.

I’m not a couch potato and hate spending my time only beside the TV-set. I’m likely to go somewhere on foot just to have a walk if I have no other plans. Active life captivates me most of all.
On Saturday morning I never wake up too late. I’d rather wake me up at dawn than lie slugging in a bed till midday. After drinking a cup of coffee, I spend 15 minutes on reading the news about politics. As always they promise to give people high salary and pension but their words speak louder than actions and not the reverse. I don’t get upset, drink another cup of coffee and prepare for a journey to the movies.
Sometimes I change this plan and go to the exhibition if there’s one in my town. I love visiting operas, theaters and plays too, but last Saturday all tickets were reserved in advance. When I came up to a box-office, a ticket seller told me that it was late – no tickets left.
As a rule, my day off is always full of events. I never get bored and even if there’s no place where I might go to, I make an effort to do my best and spend this day productively. I read books or learn something, do sports and make plans for the next weekends.
