Сеть – новая эра в общении

Сегодня Интернет превратился во всемирную сеть сетей. Он соединяет между собой миллионы компьютеров разного размера, от сравнительно простых до сложных суперкомпьютеров. Это связь десятков тысяч учебных заведений, бизнеса и общественных организаций с отдельными пользователями. Вот почему Интернет называют информационной супермагистралью.

Люди используют Интернет для многих целей. Среди них — поиск и извлечение важных документов, ведение междугородних разговоров и отношений с другими пользователями, подключение к суперкомпьютерам и множество других действий.

Что известно, Интернет изначально образовался в 1970 году как военная сеть. Несколько лет спустя Интернет открылся для невоенных пользователей. Однако наибольшую популярность она приобрела лет через десять, когда многие образовательные учреждения и множество предприятий по всему миру вышли в онлайн.

Когда в 1993 году подключение к Интернету впервые стало доступным для отдельных лиц, использование сети значительно возросло. В течение короткого периода времени к сети присоединились многие миллионы новых пользователей. Было объявлено о начале новой эры компьютерных коммуникаций. Большинство сетей в Интернете делают определенные файлы доступными для других сетей. Эти общие файлы могут быть базами данных, программами или электронной почтой от отдельных лиц в сети. Каждый из сотен тысяч международных сайтов предоставляет пользователям тысячи порций данных.

Следует отметить, что Интернет не является единственным общения пользователей компьютеров друг с другом. Ряд коммерческих онлайн-сервисов также обеспечивают связь с теми, кто за это платит. Эти сервисы предоставляют широкий спектр информации, включая онлайн-конференции, доступ к энциклопедиям и другим образовательным средствам и справочникам, электронные форумы для определенных групп пользователей, любителей спорта и т. д.
