i like reading very much. i am fond of adventure stories and fantastic fiction. sometimes i spend my leisure time with a detective-book in my hands. it is rather difficult to choose the very best book on the shelf. today i’d like to tell you some words about “the hobbit”, one of the most famous stories, written by j.r.r.tolkien.

it must be said that the same-named film, created by peter jackson, was sure to increase the popularity of the book. but for me, the written variant is much more interesting than the movie. the plot goes round the travelling of a little hobbit, bilbo baggins by name, who was helping dwarfs to get their ancient treasure. all the chapters are saturated with events, adventures and various meetings. the author touched questions of friendship and team spirit, courage and quickwittedness and other actual problems. at first, the book was created specially for children, but as it turns in the course of time, it is appropriate for grown-ups as well. all the characters are brilliantly depicted, besides, the world of the personages by j.r.r.tolkien is considered to be some kind of a mix of different myths and legends throughout europe.

so i can’t but admire this perfect work. and i must confess that i don’t like film-adaptations so much as they seem to lack colours, freedom and the author’s spirit.

я люблю читать. мне нравятся приключенческие и фантастика. иногда я провожу свободное время за чтением детективов. достаточно трудно выбрать самую лучшую книгу на моей полке. сегодня я хотел бы немного рассказать о «хоббите», одной из самых известных , написанных дж.р.р.толкиеном.

следует сказать, что одноименный фильм, снятый питером джексоном, конечно же увеличил популярность книги. но для меня именно книга гораздо интереснее фильма. в основе сюжета  — путешествие маленького хоббита по имени бильбо бэггинс, который гномам достать древнее сокровище. все главы насыщены событиями, приключениями и разнообразными встречами. автор затронул вопросы дружбы и , храбрости и сообразительности, и другие насущные проблемы. сначала книга предназначалась специально для детей, но с течением времени оказалось, что она подходит и для взрослых. все характеры блестяще прописаны, кроме того, мир персонажей дж.толкиена считается неким сочетанием различных мифов и легенд со всей европы.

таким образом, я не могу не восхищаться этим превосходным произведением. и я должен признаться, что я не люблю фильмы-адаптации книг, так мне кажется, что в них не хватает красок, свободы и авторского духа.
