Как поставить прилагательное в сравнительной или превосходной степени? the desert is (big) than the field.

Big-bigger(сравнительная степень)-the biggest(превосходная степень)
Если в слове 1 или 2 слога, то в сравнительной степени к слову в конце добавляют ER.В превосходной степени добавляют EST.
Если в слове 3 и более слога, то в сравнительной степени в начале преписывают MORE и слово остаётся без изменений.В превосходной степени в начале the most и слово остаётся без изменений.

В данном случае подходит только bigger, т.к. стоит than. than указывает на то, что это сравнительная степень
