Победители игр становились национальными героями. Римский император Феодосий закончил Олимпиискиу Игры в 394 году нашей эры, потому что он думал, что они были языческим фестивалем.

The Olympic Games are an international sports festival that began in ancient Greece. Nowaday Greek games took place very four years.They included not only sports competitions but also in music, oratory and theatre perfomances.The ancient Olympic Games had only one athletic event-a footrace. Only men could compete or watch the games. During the Games there was peace in the country. The Olympic Games are probably the most important international sports event. Many things have changed but like in ancient times winners of the Olympics become national heroes in their countries.
