My favourite festivalThere are many festivals in Russia. They are New Year, Christmas, Mother`s day, Maslenitsa, Easter, Victory Day and others. My favourite festival is New Year`s Day. It’s symbols are New Year tree, Grandfather Frost, Snegurochka and tangerines. I like decorating New Year tree with colourful lights, tinsels and toys. It’s wonderful. And I love getting presents.We have got New Year party at school. Children sing, dance and play.My family prepares traditional dishes: chicken, pelmeni, cake and Olivier salad. The Olivier salad is made of potatoes, eggs, cucumbers, ham, peas and mayonnaise. I eat a lot of sweets and chocolates on New Year holidays. We present beautiful New Year cards and souvenirs to our relatives and friends.Everybody is merry and happy on that day.New Year`s Day is a great festival. В России есть много праздников. Это Новый год, Рождество, День Матери, Масленица, Пасха, День Победы и другие. Мой любимый праздник – Новый Год. Его символы : новогодняя ёлка, Дед Мороз, Снегурочка и мандарины.
