Music plays an important role in my life. I simply can’t live without music. There are so many kinds of music nowadays, including rap, hip-hop, rock-n-roll, dance, classical, opera, alternative, drum & bass, techno, rock, metal, jazz, reggae, blues, etc. I like nearly all these types. When I’m sad I listen to alternative music or rock. When I’m in good mood I listen to either hip-hop or dance music. Sometimes my teacher takes us to classical concerts or operas, which I also enjoy. When there is a school disco I like dancing at rap and techno music. Once or twice I went to a jazz concert, which I thought was marvelous. At the moment my favourite band is “Linkin Park”. I love their songs and listen to them every time I get a spare minute. The reason why I like them is the unusual melody and intelligent texts. The band was formed in 1996 and was named after one of Californian parks. There are six people in the band. The most talented of all is Chester Bennington. Although I like all their songs and albums, my favourite one if “Skin to Bone”. Their songs follow different styles. Some songs refer to rock, some – to alternative style, others – to metal. Speaking of British music, I enjoy one of the oldest and non-existent now bands – “The Beatles”. I think their music will never die as it’s legendary. Reggae is another style I follow and my all-time favourite singer is Bob Marley. To sum up, I’d like to say that music can influence people. It can inspire and enrich them. It can remind of some places and times. Music is not only another art form but a powerful force, which helps us to live.I like  musical.

9. Dad advised us “, You should always wear a helmet when you ride a bike!” Dad advised us to wear a helmet when we rode a bike .

10. The biologist wondered, “What kind of marine animals are there in the park”?

The biologist wondered what kind of marine animals there were in the park.

11. The journalist asked, “Have you published any interesting stories yet?” The journalist wanted to know if I/you had published any interesting stories yet .

12. He said to her, “I may not be able to meet you at the airport.”

He told her he might not be able to meet her at the airport .

13. She said, “Let’s go out !”

She suggested to go out .

14. The doctor told her, "Don't get up until Sunday!"

The doctor told her not to get up until Sunday .

15. The girl said, “Please don’t tell my parents “!

The girl begged the teacher not to tell her parents .

16. She asked, “Can I go tomorrow?” She asked if she could go the following day.

Dear Judy,

I went to Quebec Winter Carnival this year and it was great! There were lots of fun things to see and do there. I saw some amazing ice sculptures and went skating with my friends. In the centre of the activities there was an ice palace that looked like something from a fairy tail. What about you? Did you go anywhere this winter?

Dear Сlaire,

The Quebec Winter Carnival sounds great. This winter I went to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Every year in December it become an ice city. People build sculptures of castles, fairy tale characters and animals. At night, all sculptures light up with coloured lights. It's beautiful.

В этом году я была на зимнем карнавале в Квебеке, и это было здорово! Там было много интересных вещей, которые можно было увидеть и было чем заняться. Я увидела удивительные ледяные скульптуры и покаталась с друзьями. В центре событий было ледяное царство, похожее на что-то из сказки. Как насчет тебя? Ты была где-нибудь этой зимой?

Дорогая Клэр,

Зимний карнавал в Квебеке звучит великолепно. Этой зимой я побывала в Астане, столице Казахстана. Каждый год в декабре он становится ледяным городом. Люди строят скульптуры замков, сказочных персонажей и животных. Ночью все скульптуры загораются разноцветными огнями. Это красиво.
