По Геродоту, все персы скончались на поле боя, среди их был и Кир. Это было сильным ударом для Персии, военный авторитет государства среди соседей свалился. Больше не стало большого "властителя Азии". Так было окончательно разбито войско "властителя Азии" Кира сакской царевной Томирис. Победа была достигнута за счет утраты большой доли народонаселения саков, в том числе и отпрыска Томирис. Отрубив голову Кира, Томирис при всех произнесла: "Ты желал крови, вот пей!
