My family celebrates Christmas every year. The tradition of the whole family gathering at a large table existed as I recall. Grandfather always sits in a place of honor and tells stories from his life. We know many of his stories by heart, but every time we listen carefully. He is pleased with our attention. An elegant Christmas tree blinks with colorful lights and smells of tangerines and a roasted duck. The whole day before the holiday is filled with bustle and the expectation of a miracle. Christmas Eve is full of miracles for me. Something always happens that you don’t expect.

Нарядная елка мигает разноцветными огнями и пахнет мандаринами и жареной уткой. Весь день перед праздником наполнен суетой и ожиданием чуда. Рождественский сочельник для меня полон чудес. Всегда что-то происходит, чего не ждешь.
