Вчем различие артикля a и the объясните

The    - определенный артикль                      
 Например: именно этот стол - the table
The table is in the room - в комнате стоит стол (именно этот, на который мы смотрим, который изображен на картинке).
a - нопределенный артикль 
 Наприме: стол (какой-то) - the table (мы его не видим,  но он существует)                         
This is a table - это стол.
