Станционный смотритель- "маленький" человек, "сущий мученик 14-ого класса". Герой этого произведения живет небогато, со своей дочерью Дуней-его единственным "лучиком" в жизни. Жизнь Самсона нелегка,-все гоняются его, выливают все недовольства, собравшиеся в дороге, на него, иной раз приходится уходить в сени, чтобы избежать упрёков путешественника. Да и еще дочурка убегает с богатым гусаром, оставляя отца одного. В конце концов смотриель все же не выдержал и спился, а позже умер.
Мне очень жалко этого человека, ведь даже если он не виноват, то его все равно во всем винили,-лошадей нет-виноват смотритель, погода плохая-тоже он виноват. Я думаю, что стоило относиться к нему уважительнее, но не только посторонним людям, в еще и дочке, хоть она и раскаялась на могиле своего отца.
