Англичане и американцы разговаривают на одном языке но используют его по-разному.
действительно иногда могут возникнуть недопонимания между ними но это вовсе не повод полагать сто британский  и американский варианты английского настолько отличаются что англичане абсолютно не понимают американцев.
на самом деле американский английский по распространенности значительно превзошел свой первоисточник.
он разительно отличается от классичекской британской версии но не настолько чтобы стать абсолютно новым языком.
однако отличия можно найти во всех аспектах грамматике произношении лексике
