Republic of Bashkortostan was founded on November 15. The geographical position of Bashkortostan is situated on the Western slopes of the southern Urals and in the Urals. The highest point on the territory of the Republic is mount Yamantau (1640 meters). The length from North to South is 550 km, from West to East — 430 km.

Forests cover more than 40% of the territory of the Republic. The Urals region is a mixed forest in the Western foothills, mountainous areas and the Bashkir TRANS-Ural located pine deciduous birch forests and coniferous taiga. In the Urals are also common forest-steppe with birch and oak forests, herb-feather-grass steppes, the steppe extends to the TRANS-Ural areas. Soils are mainly gray forest, Chernozem, sod-podzolic.

The region is home to 77 types of mammals, around 300 species of birds, 42 species of fish, 11 species of reptiles, 10 species of amphibians, 15 thousand species of insects, 276 species of spiders, and 70 species of ticks, 120 species of mollusks, 140 species of crustaceans, about 1000 species of worms. My favorite character is Harry Potter. When I was younger I didn’t want to read the book. I was curious about classical literature or some adventure stories. Later my friends invited me to the cinema. I was not busy and so that was the evening when I first met Harry Potter and his brave friends.
I can not say that I have become a Potter’s fan. He is little bit strange, but at the same time he is brave and very smart. He knows how to act, how to communicate with people and how to be a good friend. Sometime we have good and bad days, but we have to be strong and still trust people.

Christmas is the time of ( happy) but it's not a good time for everyone. Take turkeys, for example. Every year millions of turkeys end up on a dinner table. But not Lofty. Lofty is a (luck) bird. He was born on a (Britain) farm and has spent many (wonder) hours there. One day it was Lofty's time to go to the market. Anyway, he wasn't as (fortunate) as many other turkeys: nobody knows how but Lofty ran away! He ended up in an animal rescue centre. (Lucky) for Lofty, the people in the centre are all vegetarians, so Lofty's future looks bright.
