dear william,how are you? i am in the capital of england — in  london. my parents and i always dreamt about seeing this nice city.

there are a lot of beautiful old buildings. we have alredy seen westminster abbey, big ben (now it called elizabeth’s tower), the houses of parliament, buckingham palace, st. paul’s cathedral, london bridge, the tower of london and the waxworks madame tussaunds museum. there are the models of famous people from pop stars to prime ministers made from wax in this museum. they look like real. it’s so interesting.

my parents and i are walking on trafalgar square now. there is nelson’s column in its centre which is guarded by four lion statues at its base. by the way, i sent you this postcard with a picture of trafalgar square.

the weather is not fine today, it’s foggy and rainy. but it doesn’t spoil our walking. we took much photos. next week we will be at home and i’ll show you them.

There are four seasons in the year. There are winter, spring, summer and autumn. My favorit season is summer.

It is warm and sometimes hot. There are many fruits, berries and vegatables. In summer I can spend my time on the beach of lakes and rivers. I swim in lakes and rivers. I can drive my bicycle and our car.

We go to the forest for looking for berries and mushrooms. We live in the village for a month. My grandmother and grandfather live there. My sister and I help them in the garden.

And of course I like Summer very much because there is the longest holiday in summer.

The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy. This means that the king or Queen is the head of state. Currently, it is Queen Elizabeth II. (However, the monarch has very little power and can only rule with the support of Parliament.) Queen Elizabeth II married Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten. Now he is called Prince Philip, (Duke of Edinburgh). Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, (Duke of Edinburgh) have four children. Queen Elizabeth II and her children are known as the home and family of Windsor. Charles, Prince of Wales, is the eldest son in the Royal family. In 1981, he married Lady Diana Spencer. They have two sons, Prince William and Prince Henry. (The Royal family remains officially the home of the Windsor.) In 2011, Prince William married Miss Catherine Middleton. Now they have the title of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
