Since I was a baby, my dear granny has been inspiring and encouraging me. She has taught me everything: from reading skills to working under pressure. Today I am quite a success in dancing, painting, winning various competitions and I appreciate her for every my award.

My granny’s life has always been like a roller coaster ride. She was born in small Siberian village in 1948. She experienced hard work during her childhood, lack of food and others in cause of the end of the Second World War. But in spite of those troubles she has always been so cheerful and peaceful. I have always been astonished how she can be calm and humorous even if something bad had happened. Once she said me, “My dear, if you are in trouble or you are irritated with someone, try to work hard and all your problems will fly away. Look at me - I have never lost my temper and here is the result.” It really works! When you are annoyed and emotions take you control, just try to wash up or clear up your room. It is so easy.

She has dreamed about painting since her childhood, but her family hadn’t got enough money. Now my grandmother draws...with a needle and thread! It is so wonderful! Kindness and peace are felt in each of her work. Recently she has learnt making funny dolls, embroidering ribbons and decorating dishes. Her unforgettable works constantly take part in various exhibitions. Her masterpieces are published in local newspapers and showed on TV. I’m very proud of her.

С раннего детства моя дорогая бабушка вдохновляет и поддерживает меня. Она научила меня всему: от умения читать до сложной работы. Сегодня я довольно успешна в танцах, рисовании, побеждаю в различных конкурсах, и я обязана ей за каждую свою награду.

Жизнь моей бабушки всегда как американская горка. Она родилась в небольшой сибирской деревне в 1948 году. Будучи ребенком, она уже тяжело работала, пережила нехватку продовольствия и другие последствия послевоенного периода. Но, несмотря на все трудности, она всегда была жизнерадостной и миролюбивой. Недавно она научилась делать смешные куклы, вышивать ленточками и разрисовывать посуду. Ее незабываемые работы постоянно принимают участие в различных выставках. Ее произведения публикуют в местных газетах и показывают по телевидению. Я очень горжусь ею.

The City of my Dream
Since young age, I have always wondered what the perfect place for living would be like. Now, I can say that I have a clear vision of the city of my dreams. First of all, it should be situated in a sunny part of our planet and have great weather conditions all year round. Secondly, there should be neither crime nor any violence there. Only good and kind people can reside in such city. Life can be much easier and nicer if everyone is loving and understanding. In the city of my dreams people will live in peace and quiet, without any worries and fears. This city will have excellent roads, cheap stores, many beautiful parks and playgrounds for kids, several entertainment centers and else. The population of the city will be neither too rich, nor poor. People will live equally well. Older people will be respected and taken care of. The streets will be clean and safe. There will be no homeless animals in the city of my dreams. Another important condition is to have a loyal government. People in the city of my dream will never be in a hurry and they will do only the jobs they like. However, I certainly understand that it’s just my dream, I really hope that at least some of the mentioned qualities will come true in the future.
