thanks for your last letter! on the topic of holidays in russia, i can tell you that christmas is not as popular in russia as it is in britain. instead, we celebrate new year's eve more fervently here.

is it true that you celebrate christmas on december 25th? here we celebrate it on the january 7th. it is traditionally celebrated by religious believers, whereas i heard that in britain people of all faiths and even atheists celebrate christmas too. am i right?

my favourite holiday is new year's eve, as we put up a fir tree and have a big meal on this day and meet up with friends or relatives. other holidays we celebrate include women's day, men's day and victory day. we also celebrate the start of spring for one whole week and we call this time 'maslenitsa'. what do you call the day when you celebrate the beginning of lent by making pancakes? write back soon, sasha

About i year ago i was involved into a conflict. it was between my brother and me. he thought i should always let him do what he wanted as he was younger. hi didn't let me watch tv, play computer games, speak on the phone when i wanted to do that. i was always angry with him as it was unfair! but he believed it was all right.    to solve it i did the following: first of all i stopped quarreling and criticizing him. i told him i that we were equal and we had the same rights. i was confident and relaxed talking to him  he agreed on that and became very nice with me. he offered to be equal and do everything by turn.  so we live in peace and if we have some conflicts now, we try to be equal and respect each other's points of view.

Nowadays it is also popular to buy something on the internet, especially, clothes, books and electronic devices. of course, there are some risks connected with buying on the internet, however products can be cheaper there and it saves much time to buy on the internet. also there are many tv shops when some products are shown and you can order it just making a call. в наши дни также популярно совершать покупки в интернете, особенно это касается покупки одежды, книг и электронных устройств. конечно, существуют некоторые риски, связанные с покупкой в интернете, но продукты там могут быть дешевле, и совершение покупок в интернете много времени. также существует много телемагазинов, когда демонстрируют определенные товары, и их можно заказать, просто позвонив.
