Что употребить present simple or present continuous, когда рассказывается какой-то кусок книги или фильма?

В зависимости от контекста-и present simple,(для однородных членов предложения)и present continuous(действие в процессе) употребимы.

Present Simple более предпочтителен. Однако если ты описываешь картину из фильма или иллюстрацию к книге, то можно и Present Continuous.

What are that children names? The cats have caught mouses. There were ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls in the room.
In the farm-yard we could see oxes, cheeps, cows and gooses.
It these workers Englishmen or Germans? - They are Frenchmen.
Why don't you eat these potatoes?
There are books containing interesting stores on that shelf.
These strawberries are still green.
These withered leafs have fallen ti be ground.
Can you see birds on that tree?
Do your teeth still ache?
I held up my foots to the fire warm them.

In Russia education is compulsory between ages of 5-7 and 15 years. There are different types of secondary schools in the country. Most of them are state schools where education is free.But some parents want their children to attend private schools which are not free.Children have to attend, school from Monday till Friday. In some schools they have to wear uniform. In others they are have to wear what they want.The discipline is not very strict. But if a pupil behaves  badly the teacher  can punish the child. Of course,  the punishment not severe. The teachers want their pupils to stay out of punishment and always do their best.
