Дети - это особые люди, живущие в своем мире и не очень хорошо понимающие взрослую «скучную» жизнь, и поэтому они полностью окунаются в мир приключений, который окружает каждого из них. Дети из семьи Дарлингов - не исключение. Их невероятная история начинается вечером. В тот момент в открытое окно влетает мальчишка Питер Пэн, который пытается поймать свою сбежавшую тень. В этом ему фея Динь-Динь, она не может говорить, но прекрасно общается со своим постоянным спутником Питером.

Как только из дома уходят родители Веньди и ее двух братьев Джона и Майкла, оставив на попечение няни собаки - водолаза Нэни, спальня наполняется особыми посетителями. Веньди пришить Питеру его тень, чем заслужила доверие, а узнав, что она умеет рассказывать сказки, мальчик предлагает ей отправиться в страну детей, где он и его друзья живут, оставаясь всегда маленькими.

Путешествие началось, Динь-Динь отнеслась к этому предложению по-своему. Она ревнует Питера, отправляясь к его друзьям, дает указание убить из лука девочку, которая летит в их страну. Приказ выполнен, в Веньди стреляют, но ее жизнь защита-желудь, который дал ей их предводитель. Выходив ослабевшую девочку, маленькие жители страны Нетинебудет понимают, что она и ее братья приглашены именно Питером, а фея их просто обманула. Началась новая жизнь в удивительной стране, Веньди превращается в мамочку, стирает, убирает, готовит и обязательно рассказывает сказки на ночь мальчишкам.

Но, эта видимая спокойная жизнь в сказочной стране полна опасностей и невероятно сложных отношений с остальными жителями Нетинебудетии. Главные враги - пираты, во главе с Капитаном Крюком, гоняются за Питером Пэном за то, что он отсек Капитану руку, которую пришлось заменить крюком. Отсеченную часть руки проглотил крокодил. Такая еда ему так понравилась, что животное постоянно преследует Крюка, чтоб им полакомится от души.

Но, жизнь пиратов под угрозой. За ними охотятся краснокожие во главе с вождем Великой Маленькой Пантерой, а индейцы, в свою очередь, вынуждены постоянно от диких зверей, пытающихся их съесть.

Войдя полностью в роль мамы, Веньди запрещает мальчишкам есть сладкое, что их жизнь, ведь пираты решили их отравить вкусным сладким тортом, но сами попадают в свою ловушку и травятся им. Продолжая рассказывать сказки, девочка пытается убедить маленьких жителей, что родители всегда их ждут и держат открытыми окна всегда. Понимают сказку братья Веньди, поэтому хотят быстрее вернуться домой к маме и папе. Девочка, который пришлось выполнять роль мамы, научилась к этому времени летать и тоже решается вернуться домой. Она не ошиблась, их действительно ждут, и окно всегда открыто. Но, Питер Пэн уверен, что сделал правильный выбор в своей детской жизни, и продолжает жить маленьким в своей стране.

Вернувшись в родительский дом, Веньди, конечно же, выросла и имеет свою маленькую дочь Джейн. Однажды, влетев в открытое окно спальни, Питер принимает девочку за ее знакомую Веньди и, как всегда, повторение следует.
