The film is based on true events, the prototype of the main character is Ron Clark, who lived in a small town in North Carolina. An enthusiastic educator who used to teach elementary school in the provinces, he moves to New York and starts work at one of the city's schools in Harlem, where, as it turns out, there are only problem students.
