My favourite school subject

My favorite school subject is History. I think it is the most interesting subject.

At our History lessons we learn about people’s life in the past. Almost every lesson is like time travel. We learn about how the human society was formed, how the first states and laws appeared. We are told about the culture of different countries, about historical monuments that have survived to this day.  My most favourite period is Ancient history, but I also like learning about the Middle Ages.

Our teacher often shows us reproductions of paintings and scenes from films so that we can better imagine this or that period. She also tells us what books we can read to learn more about historical events. Sometimes we answer quiz questions on a topic.

I enjoy working on our projects. We spend a lot of time looking for additional materials, choosing interesting facts and pictures. All this helps to understand and memorize important information. Maybe I'll become a historian or an archaeologist when I grow up.

На уроках истории мы узнаем о жизни людей в Почти каждый урок похож на путешествие во времени. Мы узнаем о том, как сформировалось человеческое общество, как появились первые государства и законы. Нам рассказывают о культуре разных стран, об исторических памятниках, сохранившихся до наших дней.

Моим самым любимым периодом является Древний мир, но мне также нравится узнавать о Средневековье.

Наша учительница часто показывает нам репродукции картин и сцены из фильмов, чтобы мы могли лучше представить тот или иной период. Она также рассказывает нам, какие книги мы можем прочитать, чтобы узнать больше об исторических событиях. Иногда мы отвечаем на вопросы викторины по какой-либо теме.

Мне нравится работать над нашими проектами. Мы проводим много времени в поисках дополнительных материалов, выбирая интересные факты и иллюстрации. Все это понять и запомнить важную информацию. Может быть, я стану историком или археологом, когда вырасту.

Dear Peter,I’m writing to tell you about what happened to me last week while I 1) was visiting my aunt who lives by sea. One afternoon I 2) was taking her dog for a walk by the cliffs when I 3) noticed a girl who 4) was climbing a tree by the edge of the cliff. As she 5)was hanging there, the branch suddenly 6) broke and the girl 7) fell over the edge. I 8) ran to the edge, but although the girl 9) was shouting for help, I 10) wasn't able to see her. I 11) was thinking about what to do when a man 12) came along  the cliff path. I 13) explained what had happened and while he 14)went for help I 15)was talking to the girl. Well, everything 16) ended happily. The girl was rescued and her parents17) thanked me by giving me a large bunch of flowers. The story 18) was in the newspaper too! That’s all my news – write and tell me yours soon.

I think my favourite holiday is New Year. Why? Because everything changes beforе this day. People are scurrying around, shopping, choosing gifts to their near and dear ones. And of course, I love New Year because of it's inherent attribute - Christmas tree. I also can not imagine this holiday without New Year's feast. Cooking dinner in this day - it is a special moment in each family. And there is one more importand moment - fireworks after midnight. It is a wonderful culmination of the holiday!
