Hi Jane,
We’re having a party on the occasion of my 19 anniversary on Saturday 15 May at my new house. It starts about 7.30 p.m. I have invited about 42 people. You can get to my house on the number 12 bus 1) from the station.
Get 2) off the bus 3) before the bridge. Go 4) over the bridge and 5) down the stairs. Go 6) past the baker’s to the traffic lights. Walk 7) across the street and turn 8) left (или right) to the florist’s. Go 9) up Newton Road – it goes 10) along the river. Don’t take second turn 11) though, walk 12) under the arch. We’re number 233, 13) next to the park.
Hope to see you there,

He developedmany devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the photograph, themotion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb. He was one of thefirst inventors who applied the principles of mass production and teamwork to theprocess of invention. He created the first industrial research laboratory. He had a greatnumber of patents in the USA, the UK, France and Germany.Thomas Edison was born in Ohio, and grew up in Michigan. He was the seventhchild. In school, the young Edison's mind often wandered, and his teacher called his"addled". This ended Edison's three months of official schooling. Edison recalled later: "My mother made me. She was so true, so sure of me, and I felt I had something to livefor, someone I must not disappoint." His mum taught him at home. Much of hiseducation came from reading Parker's School of Natural Philosophy.Edison developed hearing problems at an early age. The cause of his deafness wasscarlet fever during childhood but his story was different: a train conductor struck hisears when his chemical laboratory in a boxcar caught fire. Later he used to say the injuryhad occurred when the conductor, in helping him onto a moving train, lifted hum be theears. However, the injury didn't keep him from research. His family wasn't rich. Edison sold candy and newspapers on trains running fromPort Huron to Detroit, and sold vegetables. He also studied qualitative analysis, andconducted chemical experiments on the train until an accident made further work on thekind impossible. Edison got the exclusive right to sell newspapers on the road, and, withthe aid of 4 assistants, he set and printed the Grand Trunk Herald, which he sold with hisother papers. Thus he discovered his talents as a businessman. These talents eventuallyled him to found 14 companies, including General Electric, which is still one of thelargest companies in the world. The invention that first gained him notice was the photograph in 1877. That was sounexpected it seemed almost magical. After his demonstration of the telegraph, Edisonsold it to Western Union that gave him a chance to set up the company Menlo Park.Edison was legally attributed with most of the inventions produced there, though manyemployees carried out rescarch and development under his direction
