Для большинства глаголов она образуется прибавлением окончания -ed: I played tennis. Однако есть также достаточно большая группа неправильных глаголов, которые образуют форму времени не по общим правилам, для них форму времени нужно просто запомнить: We saw your dog two blocks from here. 
В вопросительном предложении перед подлежащим нужно использовать вс глагол do в времени – did, а после подлежащего поставить основной, значимый глагол в начальной форме: Did you wash your hands?

I`ve just arrived in Minneapolis. I`ve been travelling for more than a month now, and I`ve begun to think about coming home. Everything I`ve seen so far was really interesting, and I met some really kind people. I left Kansas City a week ago.  I stayed there with Emily, the aunt of a friend from college. She was really helpful and hospitable and although I had planned to stay only a couple of days, I had been ending up staying more than a week.

 I enjoyed the journey from Kansas City to here.  I had taken the Greyhound bus and met some really interesting people – everybody was really friendly.

So now I'm here, and I`ll have been staying here for a few days before I continue up to Canada. I'm not sure exactly when I`ll get to Winnipeg – it depends what happens while I am here. But   I let you know as soon as I know myself.

 I`m staying with a family here – they're friends of some people I know at home. Tomorrow we`ll visit some people they know who has built a house in the mountains. It isn't finished yet, but it`ll be interesting to see what it's like.
