Books have quite a strong influence on people's lives, whether they are a teenager or an old person, a man or a woman. Some books, such as textbooks and encyclopaedias, give us knowledge, other books are a source of enjoyment. When we read books, we improve our memory and increase our vocabulary.  Reading books increases our ability to empathize with other people.

People who do not read books rob themselves of the wisdom of previous generations.
