Last week I started reading a book on local history

France is a great country. It is rich in its culture, traditions, art, great names and friendly people. The coat of arms of France, like the country itself, has its own history, combining many striking events. The current (=present) coat of arms of France was created in the 50s years of the last century. But its official status isn’t still confirmed. The coat of arms of France is a depiction of a shield with a lion's head and with engraved letters "FR" which stand for "French Republic". The shield is surrounded with olive and oak branches, symbolizing peace and wisdom. The shield itself is situated on the so-called fascia in the middle of which there is an axe. The symbol of the axe traces its history from the days of the great Roman Empire and carries with it the ideas of justice and unity of the rulers. But, despite the fact that the current emblem of France seems to consider all the demands of the French people, it has  not become a national symbol, as significant as others because French people, through many revolutions found out  for themselves  the symbols which are much closer to them than those ones and they found the ones which reflect what really had happened in France.

The school I would like would have a swimming pool.

I'd have one for the first and second years and also for the third and fourth years. The playgrounds would be separate, one for the young children and the other for the senior forms. A wall would be separating them and there would be a door from one playground to the other.

The classrooms would have carpets instead of lino. The desks would be painted and the chairs would have cushions. The chairs would also be painted.

There would be a computer for every table in the classroom. There would be at least 12 videos for each classroom. The hall would be very big, about 40 metres long and 30 metres wide.

The lessons would be interesting. There would be lots of French and German and English.

There would be four floors at the school. There would be a lift to take us up. The staffroom would be much bigger than the one we have now.

It would be light and cosy. There would also be a big library. There would be a lot of instruments: flutes, guitars, drums, etc.

The school meals would have different food every day. There would be lots of visits to concerts and parks.

The tests would be easier for children.
