The word "holiday "comes from the words"Holy day". The first holidays were religious. Today, many holidays have nothing to do with religion. Almost every country has holidays that mark important events in its history.

Some holidays have a fixed date, such as New year or Christmas, others do not. Some, for example, Easter are movable holidays.

In Russia we celebrate Day of Knowledge in September, Constitution Day on the 12th of December, New Year's day  on the 1 st of January,  Defender's Day on the 23rd of February, Mothering Day on the 8th of March, Victory Day on the 9th of May and there are, of course, some other holidays.

New Year is very popular all over the world. It's my favourite holiday, too. We usually get together on this day. We love to celebrate this holiday at home.

Слово "праздник "происходит от слова"святой день". Первые праздники были религиозными. Сегодня многие праздники не имеют ничего общего с религией. Почти в каждой стране есть праздники, которые отмечают важные события в своей истории.

Некоторые праздники имеют фиксированную дату, например, Новый год или Рождество, другие нет. Некоторые, например, Пасха - это не привязанные к постоянной дате праздники.

В России День знаний отмечают в сентябре, День Конституции - 12 декабря, Новый Год , День Защитника Отечества-23 февраля, День материнства - 8 Марта, День Победы - 9 Мая и некоторые другие.

Новый год очень популярен во всем мире. Это и мой любимый праздник тоже. Мы обычно собираемся вместе в этот день. Мы любим отмечать этот праздник дома.

The house of my dreams is in Yaroslavl, on the outskirts of the city.In my house there are 7 rooms: a bedroom, a living room, a study, a kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom and a toilet.In my house there are 2 floors, on the ground floor there is a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, and the second bedroom has an office.My favorite room is the living room.It is made in light colors, very beautiful and cozy.The windows in the living room are large, without curtains.Near the windows are many different flowers.In the middle of the room is a white leather sofa, and next to the same chair.Opposite the sofa is a coffee table.Near the wall behind the sofa is a large bookcase.Opposite the couch on the wall is a TV, and under it is a fireplace.A large number of photographs are hung on the walls.Near the house there is a garden, there are many different plants in it, it is very beautiful there!Also in the house there is a garage.I represent the house of my dreams precisely because on the outskirts of the city there is no city fuss, noise, there is pure air.On the outskirts it is quiet and cozy.
