London is situated on the river Thames. The city is very old and beautiful. It was founded more than two thousand years ago. Traditionally London is divided into several parts: the City, the West End, the East End and Westminster. The City is the oldest part of London, its financial and business centre. The heart of the City is the Stock Exchange. Westminster is the most important part of the capital. It's the administrative centre.

Zabaikalsky Krai is a subject of the Russian Federation in the Eastern part of Transbaikalia, as part of the far Eastern Federal district and the East Siberian economic region. Its administrative center is the city of Chita.

It was formed on March 1, 2008, as a result of a referendum on the unification of the Chita region and the Oginsky Buryat Autonomous Okrug.

It borders the Amur and Irkutsk regions, the Republic of Buryatia and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) of the Russian Federation. The southern and South-Eastern borders of the TRANS-Baikal territory is the state border of the Russian Federation with Mongolia and the people's Republic of China.

Broadcast media include, first of all, radio and television. These were the new inventions that partially replaced books and papers in the twentieth century. They made possible a more quick transmission of information. Moreover, television has become an extremely popular entertainment for everybody who has a TV set at home. There are hundreds of channels. Millions of people still watch movies and TV shows every day.
Recently, though, all the previous types of mass media have given way to the newest, revolutionary service – the Internet. One can read paper articles and books, listen to broadcasted programs and music, watch videos, including online transmissions of the TV channels, and everything at one place: on the Internet. It is very convenient. Almost everybody can access the Internet via their mobile phones now. It is an instant way of transmitting information worldwide.
In my opinion, the Internet is the best invention of the twentieth century. It is a fantastic thing that allows people to use knowledge and experience of the whole human community. I never read newspapers or watch television, I use the Internet instead. I can find there any information I need – from books for my studies to recipes and dance video lessons.
