The Internet is very important in modern society because it helps us find the information we need and share this information just in a few seconds. The Internet has made our life a lot easier and more comfortable.  People use the Internet for studying, work, shopping and entertainment — watching films, listening to music, communicating with different people all over the world. They also use the Internet for playing online games.

The Internet offers students a lot of educational opportunities.  It provides a wealth of information, knowledge and educational resources. When we write essays or work on projects, we can search for additional information on the Internet.  Thanks to the Internet we can learn through videos (like youtube tutorial videos) and web tutorials. The Internet also helps us communicate with teachers and classmates.

In spite of being such a useful thing, the Internet can be harmful for users, too. Children are especially vulnerable to the dangers of the Internet and can face threats like cyberbullying, inappropriate content and others. Another danger is theft of people's personal information. Besides, surfing the Internet can be addictive - people seem to forget about their real lives.
