The UK consists of:
preschool (children aged 3-4 years);

universities and colleges (18+)
Any child aged 5 to 16 years has the right to attend a state school in the UK, while his parents are in the country on a long-term visa (any visa, which lasts more than 6 months - working, student, business visa and so on). If the parents are outside the UK, children under 16 years of age can receive education only in private boarding schools.

Hurray ! We are we having holidays!
Autumn holidays are very short - only 10 days.
I`m not going to travel, I won`t go to the seaside, I won`t visit my Granny in the village. However, I like autumn holidays. I will have a lot of time for my favourite activities.
In the afternoon I`ll play with my little sister and walk with her outdoors. We will pick up yellow beautiful leaves and watch the smart trees.
In the evenings I will read books and improve my English language.
It`s so great to have autumn holidays!

A Visit To The Theatre Посещение театра
People live a busy life nowadays. They don’t have much free time for leisure activities, for visiting cinemas or theatres. However, it is always a good idea to see a new film or play. Such pastime carries us away from daily routine and gives food for thought.
As for me, I like visiting theatres. In the town, where I live, there is only one theatre. It usually features new and old plays. Sometimes opera singers or ballet dancers from larger cities visit our theatre. I try not to miss such events. Theatre for me is both pleasant and entertaining.
Being one of the oldest forms of art, it features comedies, dramas and tragedies. Most of all I like comedies. Recently, I’ve seen the play “Charley’s Aunt”, written by a talented English playwright Brandon Thomas. This comedy was successfully staged at many world theatres.
The funniest part of the story was connected with a young unemployed man, who had to pretend he was an elderly rich woman. In fact, he played his part brilliantly. All this fancy-dressing was to help two Oxford students to date their loved ones. Without the presence of Charley’s aunt they were not allowed to see each other because of the ladies’ angry uncle. The play was full of funny scenes. I enjoyed every minute of it. Fortunately, it had a happy ending. Young students got the uncle’s permission to marry the girls. Babbs, who was pretending to be a woman, also met the love of his life. And, finally, Charlie’s real aunt arrived in Oxford to meet his nephew.
The play was a great success. You could hardly find a vacant seat. I was glad I didn’t miss the premiere.

Иногда наш театр посещают оперные певцы или артисты балета из крупных городов. Я стараюсь не пропускать подобные события. Театр для меня одновременно удовольствие и веселье.
Будучи одним из старейших видов искусства, он представлен комедиями, драмами и трагедиями. Больше всего мне нравятся комедии. Недавно я смотрела спектакль «Тётка Чарлея», написанный талантливым английским драматургом Брэндоном Томасом. Эта комедия была успешно поставлена во многих театрах мира.
Самая смешная часть истории связана с молодым безработным человеком, который должен притворяться пожилой богатой женщиной. На самом деле, он блестяще сыграл свою роль. Весь этот маскарад был для того, чтобы двум студентам Оксфорда встречаться со своими возлюбленными. Без присутствия тетки Чарлея им не разрешалось видеться, так как у девушек был злой дядя.
