This day is a bit of my past, but it still came to my memory. I was a little kid then when it was winter. It was a very snowy day - and it was New Year's Eve. On the street - snow is pouring, having dinner, the whole family is getting ready, it bothers me, and at this time I am with my sisters, who are a little older than me, all trying to figure out what they will give me. We are on a fluffy carpet - we all sit together, and delicious smells come from the kitchen. Mom cares, Dad is going to dress the Christmas tree, it's a little late, but still. And we run to help him in this. I remember, the first toy in my life, I hung up on the Christmas tree just then. The atmosphere was the most magical and warm. I still precisely because of this and love this holiday - holiday New Year, so that in the evening, in that the most memorable for me day in my life, I saw such dreams magical, which not saw then never - nor in childhood, nor in youth.

Этот день немного из моего но все же он запомнился мне очень сильно. Я был тогда маленьким ребенком, когда была зима. Это был очень снежный день – и был канун Нового года. На улице – снег сыпет, вечереет, вся семья готовиться, хлопочет, а я в это время со своими сестрами, которые немного старше меня, все пытаясь разгадать, что же мне подарят. Мы на пушистом ковре – все вместе сидим, а с кухни доносятся вкусные запахи. Мама хлопочет, папа елку наряжать собирается, немного поздновато, но все же. Я до сих пор именно потому и люблю этот праздник – праздник Нового года, так как в тот вечер, в тот самый запомнившийся для меня день в моей жизни, я видела такие сны волшебные, которые не видел потом никогда – ни в детстве, ни в юности.

Money doesn’t buy happiness but it helps at some extent. In other words, money is a method of exchange, which is presented by coins and notes.

Almost every country has their currency nowadays. Most European countries use Euros and Dollars. However, the method of exchange was not always operated by money. Primitive societies used a system of barters. Barter is a direct exchange of goods without using money. People used to exchange cattle, grain, salt, tobacco, vegetables and other products to something of an equal value. However, they soon understood that barter wasn’t a perfect way of exchange, as peoples’ needs rarely coincided.

Coins and paper money were invented in ancient China. First coins were made of copper with a hole in the middle, so that they could be put together like a chain. Later examples were made of gold, silver, lead, zinc, aluminum, nickel and other metals. Some ancient Chinese coins were even made of pressed tealeaves. The majority of modern coins contain images of famous people or important symbols of the country they present.

Paper money is obviously easier to handle and much more convenient. Officially, the first paper money was used by the Bank of Sweden in 1661. Today, there are so many other ways to preserve money and to spend them. There are traveler’s cheques, credit cards, deposits, loans, etc. They gradually replace paper notes and coins. Some developed countries even have stores where cash is no longer accepted for security reasons.
