В настоящее время эта традиция только в некоторых в некоторых российских семьях, которые садятся за стол после большой вечерней службы. На Рождество можно загадать желание, которое обязательно сбудется. Рождеству предшествует пост. Поэтому в это время нельзя есть жирную пищу. В канун Рождества хозяйки убирают дома, чтобы отпраздновать праздник в чистом доме. 7 января заканчивается пост, и еда на Рождество должна быть сытной и вкусной.
