Easter is the biggest religious festival that is celebrated in the spring. He came to us from ancient times. On this day, according to the Christian legend, Jesus Christ was resurrected after he was crucified on the cross in order to atone for all the sins of mankind. This miracle symbolizes liberation from sins for believing people. In the popular view it is a holiday of renewal of the earth and nature. Preparing for the holiday of Easter takes a whole week, every day of which has special significance, and which is celebrated by the performance of certain rituals. Preceded by the Easter seven-week Great Lent.
Celebrate Easter differently in different countries of the world and even different regions of Ukraine. Before Easter, all families bake delicious cakes and paint eggs in bright colors. I like the smell and taste of cakes, and especially their tops, sprinkled with colored sugar.
Early in the morning on Sunday, everyone goes to church, and after returning sit at the festive table. In the church, the priest sprinkles people and food with holy water. There is a tradition of lighting a candle and inserting it into Easter at the time of consecration. If you bring a burning candle to the house itself, then there will be happiness and wealth for a whole year. On this day the whole family usually gathers for communication and fun. Around joyful festive atmosphere.
There is a folk belief that after Easter it is definitely warmer, therefore, the earlier the feast, the faster spring comes. I noticed that on this day it often rains, even a little, and on Monday it's warm, sunny weather. Easter is one of my favorite holidays!
