I was born in England. I was sent to study medicine when I was 14 years old. After college I went on with my studies and became a doctor. On May 4, 1699, I sailed from Bristol for the south seas on a ship named the Antelope. There was a great storm. The ship crashed into the rocks. Some of the sailors and I had to get a small boat into the water. We all fell into the sea, when a big wave hit the boat. I was swimming for a very long time. Finally I reached the shore. There were no houses and no people. I was so tired. I lay down and fell asleep.
